Wanted: Manufacturing Business

I want to buy a manufacturing (metal products) business in the Chicago area that reports $250,000 to $300,000 annual profit including owner’s pay.

    Chicago is a black hole to invest in, think about moving either somewhere more favorable or move over to reinvigorating Detroit or Flint where their piratically give you a business to absorb the taxes.

    How have you been searching for a business for sale? I am sure that Chicago is like all larger cities, there are mature profitable businesses for sale and if you search properly, you will find several good prospects. I would be pleased to explain the process in more detail.

    Are you building an empire of sorts? http://www.bizbuysell.com is a good place to look for what you’re describing. And Brandon makes a good point—if you’re not restricted to the local metro area you can probably find a good deal in a cheaper part of the country.

    Searching for a business to buy in the traditional ways will result in wasting a lot of time and energy looking at bad companies or good companies priced the wrong way. Searching for businesses that are on the hidden market (those not publicly listed for sale) will most often result in finding the motivated seller (usually someone retiring) of a good positive cash flowing company at a fair price. It does work and I would be more than happy to share with you how.
